Top tips for tenants when looking for a rental in a hot market !

If I could get a dollar for every person that tells me how hard it is for them to find a rental I would be rich !

From the barista and my local café, to the lady who waxes my eyebrows….they are all having trouble standing out from the crowds at home opens especially when they blend in with everyone else who is just as eager to find their next home.

So what is the best way to find a rental in this current climate ??

Tip 1. Visit your local property manager face to face – show them that you are of good character and if we have had a great first impression, got on well with you at the viewing or you have been referred to us, this is going to help to bring you to the top of the list.

This is then backed up by a strong rental reference on your application, followed by a quick move in date (ideally within 7 – 14 days) and a lease term ideal for our client.

Tip 2. Make sure your friends and family know that you are looking. Get your network working for you and hopefully they can refer you to a landlord or a real estate agent that can help you. This has worked for many of our recent tenants where they have been referred to us and I have been eager to help them out.

Tip 3. Provide a cover letter with your application. Photos of yourselves and your pets might sound a bit corny but actually help us develop a good feel for who you are and what you are looking for in a rental.

Looking for a rental property is time consuming and lengthy so invest in the above three tips and this should help simplify the process for you and make it a swift experience !

If you are looking for a rental give my team a call on 9367 8877 to see what is currently available on our rental list and our off market list.
